Chloroplatinic Acid Potassium

Cas No: 16921-30-5
Molecular formula: K2PtCl6
Molecular weight: 485.99
Appearance: orange yellow crystal or yellow cubic crystal system

Application scope:

Used in analytical reagents, electroplating, catalysts and photographic industries.

Potassium hexachloroplatinate, is a chemical substance. Molecular formula K2PtCl6, orange crystal or yellow powder. Soluble in hot water, slightly soluble in cold water, almost insoluble in ethanol, ether, deliquescent, mainly used for photography, electroplating and so on. Stable at room temperature and pressure. Materials to be avoided: moisture/moisture, acids, interhalogen compounds. Production method: add excessive potassium chloride solution to concentrated chloroplatinic acid solution, stir evenly, namely potassium chloroplatinic acid precipitation: crystallization, solution heating evaporation concentration, cooling crystallization, combined crystallization, drying. The crude product is added to water and heated until dissolved. After filtering out the insoluble substance, it is heated to evaporate and concentrated and cooled for crystallization. The crystallization is washed in cold water until qualified and then dried. Solubility: soluble in hot water, slightly soluble in cold water, almost insoluble in ethanol, ether, deliquescent. Storage and transportation: sealed at room temperature, ventilated and dry, away from light.
