Solubility: Soluble in anhydrous alcohol, sulfuric acid and potassium hydroxide. Chemical properties are not very stable, hydrolysis in water or in air escapes hydrogen chloride gas and generates tantalum pentoxide hydrate precipitation. Application: Used as a chlorinating agent for organic compounds, chemical intermediates and preparation of tantalum, etc.
