Sterilization and disinfection of domestic water
There is a problem of sterilization and disinfection in water treatment. At present, the chlorination and oxidation disinfection method by adding chlorine or chloride to water is generally used. However, it is found that chlorination disinfection can lead to the production of three (carcinogenic, teratogenic, mutagenic) substances in drinking water. Treatment methods such as ultraviolet, ozone, ultrasonic, magnetization, and static electricity developed in recent years have not been widely used due to complex equipment, small treatment water flow, or high treatment costs. Electrolysis is popular as a sterilization water treatment technology with good sterilization effect, strong practicability, and no secondary pollution. The technology of generating hypochlorous acid by chlor-alkali process has been widely used. This method is to make the current through the electrolyzer with sodium chloride (NaCl) solution, the anode generates chlorine (Cl-) ions, and the cathode generates hydroxide (OH+) ions. The electrolysis unit finally generates substances including chloride ions, hydrogen ions and hypochlorous acid. The generated chloride ions and hypochlorous acid are strong oxidants and have no strong killing effect on microorganisms.
